Our first BRT Rusah was trained with Bernie and Lana from Berendhaus K9 Academy. We have found everything we were looking for in them as trainers and became good friends over the years. Bernie has over 35 years of experience in training police and Schutzhund dogs as well as canine behavior modification, he organized and lead several Schutzhund clubs in Ontario over the years. Lana is methodical and thorough teacher with expertise in conformation, agility, Shutzhund and other canine sports. We trust their judgment, love the way their own dogs perform and most importantly, we share their training philosophy of motivational off lead training.
The only problem was the long drive to the Berendhaus Academy. One day I asked Bernie if he would be interested in teaching obedience in our home-town, London ON. With that, in 2006 our partnership emerged. We are blessed by having our dear friends and mentors by our side and thankful for their ongoing support and wisdom.
In 2006, our first year, 6 Beginners, 5 Intermediate and 2 pre-advanced obedience classes graduate in London. Some of our students proceeded to competitive obedience.
We continue to offer obedience for both companion and competition dog –handler teams in our London Location. Tracking and Schutzhund training is offered by our partners and mentors in Berendhaus K9 Academy
In 2008, we added Rally Obedience classes; several of our students earned Rally O titles in 2008-2009.
Jean have judges several Fun and Sanction matches for different breed and kennel clubs in both Obedience and Rally O.
Since 2004 Midnight Solo BRTS earned 6 CD titles, 8 RN titles, 3 RA titles, 2 CD-X, 2 Draft dog titles, UD, OTCH, OTCH-X , HIT in 2009 National BRT Specialty. 5 Midnight Solo BRTS passed Temperament test, 2 earned BH SCH designations (visit Our Dogs page for details on our BRTs’ titles and working designation), many passed CGN test.
2 of our BRTS were CKC top obedience BRTS in 2005, 2007, 2008.
Several of our Students earned CD, CD-X, RN and RA CKC and CARO titles
24 of our Students passed CGN test that we regularly conduct.
We pass our knowledge to our students and Midnight Solo extended family, encouraging them to socialize and compete with their dogs, building great team relationship and achieving their goals like our teachers did for us.
